Delhi Daredevils beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by five wickets to register their sixth win in IPL and kept their hopes alive for getting into the semi finals. The win which was looking very easy after the rollicking starts given by Virendra Sehwag (47 runs of 19 balls) and G. Gambhir (39 runs of 31 balls) but few quick wickets in the middle overs of their inning gave their heart pumping as they achieve the target in the 19th over for the loss of five wicket.
Delhi Daredevils chasing a target of 155 runs for victory got of to flying start as both the duo Sehwag and Gambhir put on 90 runs for the first wicket in just seven overs. But the departure of both batters created some panic in the middle overs of their inning as Delhi Daredevils lost four quick wickets in the space of 41 deliveries by scoring just 31 runs. But in the end F. Mehroof and S.Dhawan both kept their nerves and guided Delhi Daredevils to five wicket win.
Earlier Virendra Sehwag won the toss and put Royal Challengers Bangalore into bat. As they came out to bat with yet another new opening pair in the face of B.Chipli and J.Kallis both played sensibly and gave Royal Challengers a solid start by putting 31 runs in 4.1 overs before J.Kallis dismissed by G.Mcgrath for 25 runs.
The main hero of Royal Challengers Bangalore inning were S.Goswami the wicketkeeper batsman who is playing his first game of the tournament as he smashed 52 runs of just 42 balls. But in the end it was Misbah-Ul-Haq who scored as many as 24 runs in the last over of the inning which was bowled by Rajat Bhatia to give his team some respectable totals.
Now Delhi Daredevils will play their next game on Thursday against Kolkata Knight Riders at their home ground. And this will be must win game for both the teams.
