India beat Australia by 15 runs, Pakistan beat New Zealand by 6 wickets - Twenty20 Cricket World Cup 2007

India Vs Australia - India beat Aussies to enter final of twenty20 world Cup

Indian players played their cricket against Australia with no fear and that’s what matter when you play against the mighty Aussies. All players are pumped up right from the word go and at the end the results fall in favor of Indian team. A excellent and stylish knock from left-hander Yuvraj Singh (70 runs of 30 balls) helped India score a memorable 15-run victory over Australia and set up a title-clash with Pakistan in the ICC Twenty20 World Championship

Indian captain M.S. Dhoni won the toss and decided again to bat first and again Indian openers played some sensible cricket to give India a good start. They put on 30 for the first wickets in 5.2 overs before injured Virendra Sehwag got out caught behind. After 9 overs Indians were 48/2 then comes the hero Yuvraj Singh and he started in the same fashion where he left off against England hitting first six of his inning on 3rd ball he faced. Then afterwards its all Yuvraj till 18th Overs.

He smashed each and every bowlers out of the park with 5 huge sixes and 5 fours. In the process he also broke the record of Misbah-ul-haq (111 meter) of longest six of the tournament by hitting 119 meter six on the bowling of Brett Lee.

At end M.S. Dhoni (36 of 18 balls) and Rohit Sharma (8 of 5 balls) help India to impose a daunting task for the Aussies of 189 for victory.

Opener Mathew Hayden (62) and Andrew Symonds (43) kept the Indians on their toes with fighting knocks but India managed to strike crucial blows and also slipped in some vital dot balls as Australia fell short in the dying overs.

In the event, they were left to get 22 off the last over from Joginder Sharma, who had not been impressive till then but managed to pitch the ball up well enough to block out the chances of big hits and also bagged a couple of wickets in the process.

The pick of the bowlers for Indians were S.Sreesanth who manage to hit the Aussies batsman stump twice by conceding only 12 in his allotted 4 overs.

Yuvraj Singh was declared Man of the Match for his brilliant 70 runs of 30 balls.

Pakistan Vs New Zealand – Pakistan thrashed Kiwis to enter Final of twenty20 world Cup

Pakistan Played some outstanding cricket to beat the kiwis to get in to the finals of twenty20 world cup. It was a day which matters most for the Asian teams. Daniel Vettori after winning the toss decided to bat first. His decision was truly supported by their openers but after they got out no one able to kick the scoring rates.

Pakistan bowler manage to take wickets at regular intervals and in the end they just manage 143/8 in their allotted 20 overs. At one stage 143 was also looking far-far away from the hands of kiwis but thanks to some lusty hitting by Scott Styris and Ross Taylor at the end.

Chasing a target of 144, the Pakistanis got off to a blistering start and were never troubled by an unusually sloppy New Zealand bowling and fielding. After the opening pair of Mohammad Hafeez and Imran Nazir added 60 runs by the seventh over, there was only one way New Zealand could have got back into the match and that was if the mercurial Asians self destructed.

But that was not to be as a poor display in the field saw the Kiwi fielders dropping two easy chances. The first to be given a reprieve was Imran Nazir when he was dropped off Jacob Oram by Ross Taylor. The batsman celebrated his life by hitting Oram for two sixes in the same over.

The second chance was in the 19th over when substitute Nathan McCullum dropped Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik off Jeetan Patel but by then the final script of the match was already there for all to see.

Though Younis Khan and Shahid Afridi failed to fire, the target was not too tough for the Pakistani top order as the winning runs came with seven balls still in hand when Malik lifted Patel for a six over the midwicket boundary.

Umar Gul was declared Man of the Match for his brilliant spell of bowling 3/15.
