Sanath Jayasurya played an outstanding inning of 114 runs of just 48 balls with eleven fours and nine sixes to outplay the Chennai Super Kings by 9 wickets. Chasing the target of 157 runs for victory, Mumbai Indians started the chase in great fashion as Sachin Tendulkar and S.Jayasurya put of 76 runs for the first wicket in just 8.2 overs.
S. Tendulkar manage just (16 runs of 20 balls) 12runs but mind he was playing match after the gap of almost two months. R.Uthappa after Tendulkar dismissal arrived to the crease at put on 82 runs for the second wicket with Jayasurya to wrap up the match in just 13.5 overs.
Earlier Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and put Chennai Super Kings into bat. Chennai Super Kings once again struggled to get good start as they reduced to 44/4 in the 9th over. However S.Badrinath (53 runs of 60 balls) and M.S. Dhoni (43 runs of 40 balls) put on 100 runs for the fifth wicket to get them out of danger to reach the score of 156/6 in their 20 overs.
From Mumbai Indians D.Kulkarni were most successful bowlers as he picked up three wickets in his spell of four overs. D.Bravo and S.Pollock also chipped in with two and one wicket respectively. Shaun Pollock bowled four overs for just nine runs.
This win gives Mumbai Indians their fourth consecutive victory in a row and now they are placed just below Delhi Daredevils in points table. Now they will play Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday, which will be big game for them.
