His spell set the tone for his team and therefore Kolkata Knight Riders able to defend the total of 133 runs which no one had think to defend against one of the best batting line up of Delhi Dardevils.
Shoaib Akhtar started brilliantly by picking up V.Sehwag on his 3rd ball of his first over giving the Knight Riders a much needed start. In his second over he gets rid off dangerous looking G.Gambhir caught brilliantly by David Hussey at point. But the major blow which hurted most to Dalhi Daredevils arrived in the 3rd over of Shoiab Akhtar overs when he picked two wickets in two delivery. First by getting A.B. Devilliers and then M.Tiwary caught plump in front of the wicket to give Shoiab Akhtar his fourth one of his magical spell and at that time Delhi were 32/4 in the 5th over.
Thereafter it was all Kolkata Knight Riders with some splendid fielding and bowling throughout the innings of Delhi Daredevils. Delhi Daredevils required 30 runs in the last three overs when Saurav Ganguly thrown the ball to L.Shukla who picked up three wickets in space of five balls to end the match.
Earlier Saurav Ganguly won the toss and decided to bat first, but his team mates once again failed to put enough runs on the board. Only S.Butt and D.Hussey showed some get goings through which Kolkata manage 133/6 in their 20 overs.
