IPL twenty20 – Bangalore Royal Challengers seeking some momentum against Kings XI Punjab

Bangalore Royal Challengers who has lost six out of eight matches they have played so far is now under too much pressure to perform well in the rest of the tournament. They now need to win at least five out of six matches they have to play to give them some outside chance to make it to last four.

Bangalore has reached a decisive stage in their campaign, and a couple of further setbacks will mean that the remaining games will have significance only for the teams they play against.

Kings XI Punjab has so far won their last three encounters at home quite comfortably. When last time these two teams played in this tournament the match was one sided affair, with S.Sreesanth picking up two wickets in his very first over. Only R.Dravid sign in that match making 68 runs for his side.

So far Kings XI Punjab have won five matches out of eight matches they have played and sitting at 3rd position in IPL twenty20 points table. On the other hand Bangalore has won only two matches and lost six and they are placed at 7th place in points table.

Player to Watch

Shaun Marsh: After the debut in IPL twenty20 he has shown what he can do with his bat. He has always given his team start his team looking for. He is fluent left hander and scored consistently in the last three matches he played.

Cameron White Vs P.Chawla: So far Cameron White has failed with the bat but in the last match against Kolkata Knight Riders he has shown what he is capable of. So the battle between him and P.Chawla will be interesting.

S.Sreesanth: He has performed really well after the departure of B.Lee and is confident to do well in today’s match also. We may see another two wickets over by him today in front of his home crowd.

Pitch Report

Pitch at Mohali will help swing bowlers and if team able to survive first six overs of their inning then they can score 170 plus total at this wicket, which will be challenging to chase.

Team News

Kings XI Punjab will most probably stick with same XI which played against Kolkata Knight Riders. Kumar Sangakkara is still unfit. On the other hand Royal Challengers Bangalore may bring back M.Haq to give solidity to their middle order batting lineup.

Likely Playing XI for both the teams (Match will start from 20:00 PM India time)

King XI Punjab: J.Hopes, S.Marsh, R.Srawan, Yuvraj Singh (Captain), Mahela Jayawardne, Irfan Pathan, Uday Kaul (WK), K.Goel, Piyush Chawla, Vikram Singh, S. Sreesanth.
