Kings XI Punjab who started the tournament on bad note now placed second in the points table of IPL twenty20. Kings XI Punjab beat Bangalore Royal Challengers by six wickets in their seventh match of IPL to registered fifth consecutive win.
It’s all started when Kings XI Punjab captain Yuvraj Singh won the toss and decided to bowl first on a wicket which was supposed to provide some seem and swing for his opening bowlers. S.Sreesanth just showed to the world that if he bowls accurately then he can be one of the dangerous swing bowlers. And he did exactly what his teams were required from him by picking up two wickets in his very 1st over.
It was a disastrous batting show from Bangalore as they were bowled out for a paltry 126 in 19.2 overs with Dravid playing a captain's knock, scoring 66 off 51 balls. Bangalore, who’s batting has been disappointing throughout the competition, had five ducks and only two scores in double-figures in their innings.
Chasing a small total of 127 runs for victory Kings XI Punjab once again got a solid start by their openers Shaun Marsh (39 runs of 34 balls). The Aussie hit four boundaries and one six in his 34-ball 39 before he was cleaned up by Zaheer in the 15th over. But it was a little too late in the day for Bangalore as Mahela Jayawardene (17 not out) and Irfan Pathan (17 not out) scored the remaining runs without much trouble.
Earlier Bangalore Royal Challengers batting were collapsed badly and no one able to get into even double figure mark except two Indians Rahul Dravid (66 runs of 51 balls) and Virat Kohli (34 runs of 36 balls) and they both tried hard to get back their team out of trouble, however it was a day which completely belongs to King XI Punjab.
S.Sreesanth was declared Man of the Match.
