The team who started the tournament as underdogs now gets on top of the points table after beating M.S.Dhoni lead Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets. The magical bowling performance by Pakistani left armor Sohail Tanvir (6/14) and one of the best bowling figures so far in the history of twenty20 help his team to register an easy win over Chennai Super Kings.
Chasing an easy target of 110 runs for victory Rajasthan Royals got of to flying start as their openers G.Smith (35 runs of 44 balls) and A.Asnodhakar (32 runs of 30 balls) put on 76 run for the 1st wicket. In the 3rd over of Rajasthan Royals inning G.Smith did gave a chance when he tried to played a pull short on the bowling of M.Ntini but a simple catch was dropped by J.Sharma at mid-on. In the end it was too small total to chase and they manage it in just 14.2 overs with the loss of two wickets.
Earlier M.S.Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first but his team got of to disastrous start with Sohail Tanvir picking up both the openers in the very 1st over of the inning. The last match half-centurion S.Vidyut also got out very cheaply on the bowling of S.Tanvir, giving a simple catch to second slip.
S.Badrinath and S.Raina do tried to settle the things but S.Watson picked up S.Badrinath to leave Chennai Super Kings tattering on 38/4 in the 6th over of the match. Afterwards they continued to loose wickets at regular interval and bundle out for just 109 runs in the 19th over.
