Virendra Sehwag once again showed that when he gets going, no one can stop him and in his favorite ground he smashed 71 runs of 41 balls hitting three sixes and seven fours.
Virendra Sehwag who hit triple century recently at Chepauk against the South Africans continued his good show with bat and guide his team to a comfortable win by eight wickets. Although he was back in the pavilion when last winning run scored by his team.
Chasing a target of 170 runs for victory Virendra Sehwag got his team to flying start by hitting M.Ntini for huge six over third man in the very first over of inning and kept going in the same vein, coming down severely on Manpreet Goni, whom he hit for two sixes in the same over once.
Sehwag and Gambhir added 115 runs in just 11.2 overs before he was caught by Muralitharan at third-man off Joginder Sharma
Gautam Gambhir also scored second consecutive half-century to become the leading run scorer in the tournament to gain an orange cap. Gautam Gambhir also fell quickly after completing his half century but AB Devilliers (26 runs of 21 balls) and Shikhar Dhawan (19 runs of 17 balls) guide their team to comfortable eight wicket win.
Earlier Chennai Super King Captain M.S. Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first and with the help of S.Vidyut brisk half century they posted 169/6 in their 20 overs. They were cruising in the 13th over but due to some disciplined bowling by Delhi Daredevils they restrict the home team to 169/6.
