Indian selector announced the 14 member squad for the three match ODI series against Australia. They have rested as many as seven key players, which will not take part in this one day series. Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, P.Ojha and Zaheer Khan has been rested while V.Sehwag, G.Gambhir and Ishant Sharma have been left out with minor injuries. Delhi opener S.Dhawan is included in the squad and with regular opener missing he is likely to get his first game on 17th October 2010. Shikhar Dhawan, 24, scored a century in the Challenger Trophy earlier this week and was a regular member of the Mumbai Indians' march to the IPL final this year. The absence of regular opener Sachin, Sehwag and Gambhir will provide a great opportunity for S.Dhawan and M.Vijay to deliver good show against the strong Australia. Another player for whom this will be a big series is Tamil Nadu offspinner R Ashwin, who forms the spin department along with Ravindra Jadeja. In the absence of Harbhajan Singh and P.Ojha, this will present a great opportunity for R.Ashwin who was the highest wicket taker in CL twenty20 recently.
