India v Sri Lanka Final Tri-Series – Yet another Final battle

So what India and Sri Lanka will once again play in the final whatever the outcome result it will be yet another interesting battle between two Asian giants. The road to the final for both teams is similar, one who looked down and out of the competition bounce back tremendously by bowling opposition out for just 103 runs and others bundled out their opposite number of 118 runs.

This tri-series will be remember for controversy which has happened when Suraj Randiv bowled a deliberate no-ball to stop Virendra Sehwag from reaching his 13th ODI century and in other game Captain Kumar Sangakara got into trouble when he collided with N.McCullum. So a keenly and cleanly contested final is the need of the hour and the onus is squarely on the shoulder of captains Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Kumar Sangakkara to let bygones be bygones.

Apart from above on-field controversy, Sri Lanka looked in great shape throughout the tournament in all department of the game. Sri Lanka's bowling too is not far behind its benchmark and has better back up. There batsmen Jayawardne, Dilshan, K.Sangakara as well as Upul Tharanga are in good form and one of them must be eying a big score to stop M.S.Dhoni for winning the fifth straight Cup on Sri Lankan soil.

India on the other hand have lot of soul search to do. Except Sehwag, no batsmen are in any form and that is one of the biggest concerns for the Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Dinesh Karthik has not been in his elements in the series, putting extra pressure on his brilliant Virendra Sehwag. Whether it’s Kohli or Rohit Sharma both looked scratchy at number three position. The middle order too is in shambles with an off-color Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina. And by now we all know how good Ravinder Jadeja is batting at number seven. He is only good for nothing.

So once again Indian batting will lot depend on Sehwag and Dhoni performance in the big Micromax Final at Rangiri International Stadium, Dambulla. However in the absence of Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar and Ashish Nehra done remarkably well but the backups bowlers are struggled to keep it tight.

The final could well hinge on how the team's back-up bowlers perform.

Likely Playing XI for both Teams (Match is Schedule to begin at 14:30 PM India Time)

India Squad: Virendra Sehwag, M.Vijay, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni (Captain/WK), Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, S.Tiwary, P.Kumar, M.Patel, Ishant Sharma, Ashish Nehra.
