Due to ankle injury England Star Andrew Flintoff was out of action since last two months. He is trying hard for his fitness and he is keen to return for the One Day series against India to be played later this month. Flintoff has played his first match for Lancashire against Sussex after eight-week layoff. However Lancashire looses this match by 108 runs. Flintoff bowled eight overs in the course of the match, taking 0 for 26 but generating good pace and hostility. He is expected to play a key role in the Twenty20 finals day at Edgbaston on Saturday, and with the first of seven ODIs against India coming up on August 21, his participation is likely to hinge on whether he comes through a tough Roses match against Yorkshire at Headingley. ECB is likely to announce their 15 member squad for 20-20 world cup Championship to be held in South Africa from September 11. Selector will also pick the team for Seven One dayers to be played against India. England Cricket fans are desperate to see Flintoff back in the team. Since he is Star All-round Cricketer but first he needs to prove his fitness in County cricket before getting back into the team. Flintoff has very good chance to prove his fitness in the 20-20 County championship to be played at Edgebaston on Saturday. Flintoff has spoken to England's chairman of selectors, David Graveney, and intends to make himself available for the one-dayers. "I sat down and chatted to Grav the other day and told him that I want to be in there. I was always expecting to be fine. I have been happy with the way that my progress has been because I had bowled a few overs indoors and outdoors." Let’s hope that he will get back into the team for Seven One dayers against India to see some exciting and excellent cricket from his side. Labels: Andrew Flntoff |
