Match is Delayed Due to Wet Outfields – India Vs England at Trentbridge (Nottingham)

The start of the Second Test Match between India and England is delayed due to wet outfields. Both umpire Simon Taufel and Ian Howell inspected the pitch and outfield and they agree that outfield is not well to start the match.


Although there is no Rain because sun is shining with clear sky at Notingham but it takes time to get Outfield dried out. It was raining since last three days so it takes time to get the play under way.

In the mean time both the team has announced their Playing XI for this test match.

The three-Test series is tied 0-0 after the Lord's match ended in a draw.

India: Wasim Jaffer, Dinesh Karthik, Rahul Dravid (C), Sachin Tendulkar (VC), Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (WK), Anil Kumble, Zaheer Khan, RP Singh and Shanthakumaran Sreesanth.

England: Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook, Michael Vaughan (C), Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood, Matthew Prior (WK), Ian Bell, James Anderson, Monty Panesar, Ryan Sidebottom, Chris Tremlett.

Umpires: Ian Howell (South Africa) and Simon Taufel (Australia).

Third umpire: Nigel Llong.

Match referee: Ranjan Madugalle (Sri Lanka).

Reserve umpire: Neil Mallender (England).


Indian Squad for 20-20 World Cup and England ODI series picked on 7th august

on August 7th 2007 The Selector will pick 15 member squad for Seven ODI series to be played against England as well as for 20-twenty world cup to be played in South Africa from 11-24th september. Rahul Dravid will lead the team against England but for 20-20 world cup India will get new captain.

The 15-member squad for the Twenty20 event, to be held from September 11-28, will have to be chosen from the list of 30 probables which has been already announced.

M.S Dhoni is favorite for this spot and it may be possible that Virendra Sehwag, Irfan Pathan and Harbhajan Singh will get back into the team.

The Indian squads for the seven-match ODI series against England and for the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa will be chosen in Mumbai on August 7, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Friday.
