Indian Bowlers Shines but Batsman Fail – India Vs England 1st test Match Day II

Second days play between India and England finally begins after three hours of delay due to thunderstorm on the Thursday night.

On Day 2, From the word go Indian bowler shows some aggression and maturity in line and length and they had just taken 10.5 overs more to dismiss England on 298 all out.

However, the good show by the bowlers failed to inspire the Indian batsmen and they failed to push England on the back foot. At the close of the day's play India were 145/4, trailing the hosts by 153 runs.

It was golden opportunity for the Indian batsman to play with maturity and take the lead in the first inning but they fail by some tight bowling by England bowlers. At stumps they were 145/4 (Sachin, Rahul, Jaffer and Karthik back in the hut). Now it’s upto Laxman, Ganguly and Dhoni to guide Indian and get them back on track.

After dismissing England Indian opener Dinesh Karthik and Wasim Jaffer started the Indian proceeding but they fail to give Indians a much needed solid start. In the 9th over of Indian inning Dinesh karthik was trapped infront of the wicket by Sidebootom. Indian captain Rahul Dravid also didn’t last longer and he was out for 2 after facing 12 deliveries on the bowling of James Anderson caught by Wicket Keeper Mathew Prior.

Sachin Tendulkar arrival to the crease has been applauded by Lord’s Crowd and he responded well when he and W. Jaffer Put 79 runs for the third wicket, India seems to getting back into the match. In the process Wasim Jaffer completed his half century.

However, just when it seems that Indians were out of danger James Anderson trapped master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar infront of wicket when he was on 37 and shattered the hopes of Indians as well as Sachin Tendulkar who was dreaming of making Century at Lord’s.

After Dismissal of Sachin tendulkar Bengal Tiger Saurav ganguly arrive to the crease and added 28 runs for the fourth wicket before the dismissal of Wasim Jaffer who made 58 runs. Jaffer was the first Test victim of debutant Chris Tremlett who get out Wasim Jaffer caught and bowled.

Earlier when play started after three hour delay, India strike in the Third over of the days play, Ryan Sidebottom bowled by R.P Singh with superb in swinger and India get the night watchman back in the pavilion. Zaheer khan able to bag two crucial wickets of Kevin Peterson and Ian bell with S. Sreesanth managing to remove the England Tails.

Kevin Peterson was given out twice in the match. At first Instance he was given out caught behind by M.S Dhoni on the bowling of Zaheer Khan but replay suggest the ball just bounce before reaching Dhoni gloves so he was called back to bat again. But he did’t able to grab this opportunity and got out in the same fashion as earlier but this time he was clearly out.

With Saurav ganguly at the crease and Laxman & M.S. Dhoni still to bat can India able to take the lead in the first inning, it all depends on how India play in the first session of third day play of the first teat match.
