India beat England by 7 wickets to take 1-0 lead – India Vs England Second Test at Trentbridge (Nottingham)

in second test match at Nottingham to take unbeaten lead of 1-0 in ongoing series. While chasing the target of 73 at close of day IV Indians were 10/0. India started the proceeding but they have to lost Sachin Tendulkar (1 run) and both the opener Dinesh Karthik (22 run) and Wasim Jaffer (22 run) to achieve the target.

Chris Tremelet is pick of the bowler for England who bowl heart out in second innings. He picked up all three Indian batsman fall on fifth day of play including Sachin Tendulkar.

Match is Delayed Due to Wet Outfields – India Vs England at Trentbridge (Nottingham)

The start of the Second Test Match between India and England is delayed due to wet outfields. Both umpire Simon Taufel and Ian Howell inspected the pitch and outfield and they agree that outfield is not well to start the match.

Although there is no Rain because sun is shining with clear sky at Notingham but it takes time to get Outfield dried out. It was raining since last three days so it takes time to get the play under way.

In the mean time both the team has announced their Playing XI for this test match.

The three-Test series is tied 0-0 after the Lord's match ended in a draw.

India: Wasim Jaffer, Dinesh Karthik, Rahul Dravid (C), Sachin Tendulkar (VC), Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (WK), Anil Kumble, Zaheer Khan, RP Singh and Shanthakumaran Sreesanth.

England: Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook, Michael Vaughan (C), Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood, Matthew Prior (WK), Ian Bell, James Anderson, Monty Panesar, Ryan Sidebottom, Chris Tremlett.

Umpires: Ian Howell (South Africa) and Simon Taufel (Australia).

Third umpire: Nigel Llong.

Match referee: Ranjan Madugalle (Sri Lanka).

Reserve umpire: Neil Mallender (England).

Indian Squad for 20-20 World Cup and England ODI series picked on 7^th august

on August 7^th 2007 The Selector will pick 15 member squad for Seven ODI series to be played against England as well as for 20-twenty world cup to be played in South Africa from 11-24^th september. Rahul Dravid will lead the team against England but for 20-20 world cup India will get new captain.

The 15-member squad for the Twenty20 event, to be held from September 11-28, will have to be chosen from the list of 30 probables which has been already announced.

M.S Dhoni is favorite for this spot and it may be possible that Virendra Sehwag, Irfan Pathan and Harbhajan Singh will get back into the team.

The Indian squads for the seven-match ODI series against England and for the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa will be chosen in Mumbai on August 7, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Friday.

India Vs England at Nottingham, Trent Bridge – Second Test Start from Today

Indian Cricket Team is going into this match after almost loosing the first one, but thanks to M.S Dhoni and Rain that saves India from loosing the first test match. As we saw in First test match that Indian batsman fails to deliver when it matters, so if Indian cricket team wants to perform well in ongoing series then their batsman must take the responsibility especially senior pro.

Indian team has announced their playing twelve for the Nottingham Test with Yuvraj Singh as twelfth man and its likely that Yuvraj may have to warm the bench once more. So Indians are going with same Playing XI which they were played at Lord’s.

Sourav Ganguly's stiff back was the only selection headache for the the Indian selectors ahead of the second Test match and it seems the former skipper has recovered well.

It has been raining at Nottingham from last two to three days and is likely that the second test match against India and England will be again rain interrupted match. If this happens then we may find this match ending in a draw.

With the weather reports predicting more rains over the next few days, things certainly seem gloomy - not just for the two teams but also for the cricket fans.

Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman had all flopped in the first Test at the Lord's, where India managed to save the match after rains ruled out the final session.

It’s very important for Indian Cricket team that their master blaster Batsman Sachin Tendulkar deliver in this match otherwise Indian team may find themselves in same situation where they left at Lord’s.
