At Stumps on Day3 India lead the
2nd Inning by 339 runs with 2 wickets in hand, it didn’t look too
rosy when they were 43 for 4 at one stage. Bhubneshwar Kumar is batting on 8*
and W.Saha on 39*. India
started day3 expecting New
Zealand to bowl out cheaply in 1st
Inning and get huge lead however, Jeeten Patel making test comeback played
beautifully for his 47 runs which get New Zealand past 200 run mark. Bj Walting also
chipped in with useful 25 runs on a pitch which started to keep low and slow on
3rd day of the 2nd Test Match.
However India able to get useful lead of 112 runs in 2nd
Test match by dismissing New
Zealand for 204 runs. India went into
lunch for 12 runs on the board and 10 wickets intact. But soon after lunch New
Zealand bounce back with 6 wickets in post lunch session and India looking in
deep trouble with all top gun back in the hut, Only Virat Kohli made substantial
contribution with 45 runs and lead only 218 runs and 4 wickets in bag it look
like New Zealand is of to something at Eden garden, Kolkata.
But as soon as Wridiman Saha
arrives to the crease Rohit Sharma and Saha got into good partnership to take India lead past
300 runs. Looking at the pitch how it behaved on Day3 it’s easy to say that India is
on verge of another victory and if they able to do the same they will become Number
1 Ranked Test team in the world.
At once Rohit Sharma looked to
became first player to score century in the series but at his personnel score
of 82 he misread Mitchell Santner arm ball and nicked to wicketkeeper Luke
Ronchi, in same over Ravinra Jadeja dismissed after hitting Santner for six over
cow corner.
With pitch behaving with uneven
bounce now it looks like we will have the result in this match on day4 itself. New Zealand
who is without their regular captain Kane Williamson will have mountain to
climb in 4th inning with target of 350.
