In second test match at Trentbridge Indian Captain Rahul Dravid won the toss and put England on to bat and they scored 169/7 at the end of days play. Due to wet outfields only 55 overs of play possible at day I.
Day-II (India take firm control in this match)
Anil Kumble brilliant performance with the ball in the morning help India to bowled out England tail quickly with 198 runs on the board. Opening pair of Wasim jaffer and Dinesh karthik gave India a solid start. They put 147 runs for the first wicket with the help of that Indians were 253/3 with Sachin Tendulkar batting on 53 and Ganguly not out on 4.
Day-III (India take 283 runs lead in first inning)
Resuming from overnight score of 253/3 Indian batsman played really well and don’t give England bowler any chance to take advantage of new ball. India blasted 481 in their first Inning with Sachin Tendulkar missing his 38th century by 9 run. England played 16 over on fourth day and without loosing any wicket they scored 43.
Day-IV (England face the music of Zaheer Khan 5/75)
England captain played really well and try to save England in this match by scoring 124 before getting bowled out by Zaheer Khan who takes 5 wickets in England second innings on 4th day of play. England finally bowled out for 355 and India needing just 73 to win with 3 overs of play remaining on 4th day; India scored 10 without loss.
Day-V (Great Moment for Men in Blue and Indian Fans)
Indian opener came out to bat with full of confidence and aggression but England bowlers on the other hand kept the bowl in right place and give Indians a hard time for scoring remaining 63 runs. However Indians manage to score those runs with loss of Sachin, Jaffer and Karthik and registered their 5th Victory on England soil in a match which shows some controversial decision as well as some fighting spirit from both side.
