India take firm control against England - India Vs England Second Test Nottingham Day III

At the end of day 3 India lead by 240 against England in second test at Trenbridge. Indian Batsman dominated the third day till they bowled out for 481. Six of the Indian batsman scored half century. In spite of some harsh decision by Simon Taufell Indian still ahead by 240 runs.

Earlier England Captain Michael Vaughan without any delay taken the new ball in the second over of the day hoping to get the Indian wickets quickly but Sachin Tendulkar and Saurav Ganguly played brilliantly to deny England hopes. Saurav Ganguly look in awesome form and cross the fifty run marks before the lunch. At the other end Sachin had some problem against Ryan Sidebottom who bowls brilliantly without any luck.

The first session turned out to be very fruitful for Indians as the overnight pair - Tendulkar and Ganguly managed to play the new ball well and battle out the morning conditions to come out with flying colours. At lunch Sachin and Saurav was not out on 87 and 56 respectively.

England came out to bowl after lunch with new plan and given the first over to Paul Collingwood who is smashed over point by Sachin Tendulkar for four but one ball later the Master batsman get out to the bowl who pitched outside off stump and going outside off. But England fielders kept appealing until Simon Taufell raise his finger. Sachin Tendulkar after putting 96 for the fourth wicket with Saurav Ganguly got out on 91.

V.V.S Laxman came out to bat after dismissal of Sachin Tendulkar and played positively with Saurav Ganguly to carry the Indian Scores over 400 run mark. Saurav ganguly (79) who was looking to get his second hundred at this ground given out by another harsh decision by Saimon Taufell and he was very frustrated with the decision. Action replay clearly suggested that he hasn’t touched the ball while playing the leg glance.

Lord’s hero M.S. Dhoni didn’t last longer and out on the bowling of Ryne Sidebottom caught by Matt Prior on 5 run.

Now it’s up to Indian tail to hang out with Laxman and Anil Kumble did not disappoint either with his brilliant 30 runs and 50 runs partnership with Laxman take over Indian scores to 450. Laxman got out on 54 while tried to play spanking square cut.

Finally Indian bowled out for 481 with the lead of 283 in the first inning.

England batsman came out to bat in their second inning with 16 overs of play remaining on the day. But without loosing any wicket they managed to score 43/0 at the close of third day play.

Now on fourth day Indian bowlers need discipline and patience. On the other hand England batsman need to apply themselves and put pride on their wickets to cross the mountains ahead.
