Indian explosive opener Virendra Sehwag has been ruled out of ICC World twenty20 in England after failed to recover from his shoulder injury. He will directly fly to South Africa for operation of his shoulder that means he will be out of action for at least 45 days. BCCI named Dinesh Karthik as his replacement and he will join the team before Super Eights game. Dinesh Karthik who showed explosive form with bat in the recently concluded IPL in South Africa will fly to England to join his teammates. Loss of Sehwag is really a big-blow for team India as he can be explosive against any bowling attack with his eye-hand co-ordination shots. He is a match winner but thanks to Rohit Sharma who so far performed exceptionally well in two warm-up games and the game against Bangladesh. Rohit scored 31 and 80 runs in the warm-up game while against Bangladesh he has scored 36 runs with good strike rates. Sehwag had been on the sidelines ever since the team arrived in England and missed both of India's first two warm-up matches as well as the first game against Bangladesh. Karthik can provide team much flexibility as he can open the innings if needed and can also bat lower down the order. M.S.Dhoni is also suffering from minor back injury and inclusion of Karthik will provide lots of comfort to India captain. |
