No points will be carry forwarded into the super eights stage that means each team will start fresh. To qualify for the semifinals of ICC world twenty20 they have to win at least two matches out of three games to give themselves a chance to make it into the last four of the tournament. Top two teams from each Group will qualify for the ICC world twenty20 Semi Final spot and if any two teams have same point then net run rate will come into play to decide the team going forward to play the Semi Finals. Should net run-rate also fail to separate the sides, then the one with the higher number of wickets taken per balls bowled in the group stage in which results were achieved, will be preferred.
