|After such a dismal performance by Suresh Raina lead Indian side in the recently concluded Tri-series against home team Zimbabwe, India will eye clean sweep in the two twenty20 internationals they will play against the host.
Both twenty20 internationals will be played at the venue where India didn’t able to win a single game on this tour and that is something they have to look for. Indian selectors decided to rest most of the senior players from this tour and that not only cost India the two shocking defeat against Zimbabwe but also send question marked over the next lined up cricketer who are suppose to be regular part of this squad in the coming years.
On this tour, Indian batting and bowling both looked awful at times. There fielding standard is also below par whether they have played against Zimbabwe or Sri Lanka. Apart from two hundreds from Rohit Sharma and some fine display by R.Ashwin nothing went right on this tour for India. So it’s important for the players to get their act together and register two wins before leaving the forgettable tour of Zimbabwe.
The visitors have two games to salvage the tour, and build some confidence for the players headed to Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup. On the other hand few experts are already recognizing Zimbabwe as firm favorites to win the two T20 internationals against the second string Indian squad.
Indian side after a long break will have plenty to do to register two consecutive win against Zimbabwe. The break that followed their tri-series ouster has given Suresh Raina's men enough time to chalk out their plans to avoid another stunner from Elton Chigumbura's fighting side.
Indian batting will once again rely on Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli. In the bowling they will be delighted with the Piyush Chawla joining the squad after a poor show from Delhi leg-spinner Amit Mishra.
By considering the performance of Zimbabwe and Indians in the tri-series, it will be another interesting battle on the card.
