Sri Lanka beat India by three wickets to level series to 1-1

Superb back-to-back century from Tilakratne Dilshan gave his team a much needed three wickets victory over India to level the five match Karbon Mobile Cup series by 1-1. Chasing another stiff target of 302 runs for victory, opener T.Dilshan played another blistering knock to play a key role in chasing down the target.

Once again match went down to the last over but this time Angelo Mathews (37* runs of 25 balls) made no mistake and sealed a win for his team at later part of the game. Once again India fielding looks really ordinary and they have given away 20-30 runs in the field because of their poor ground fielding.

When Sri Lanka needed 8 runs of 9 balls with three wickets in their hand, Zaheer Khan fumbles a straight ball played to him at mid-on trying to stop a single but makes complete mess of it and from where the match turns completely in favor of the Sri Lankans.

Once again it was a game which could have gone either way in front near-full house in Nagpur.

Earlier Indian captain M.S.Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat on a beautiful batting wicket, however his team didn’t get a start they were anticipated once again from Virendra Sehwag (4 runs of 4 balls) and S.Tendulkar (43 runs of 52 balls). Sehwag departed early with just four runs on the board and four overs later Gautam Gambhir (2 runs) got run out. With 19/2 now all eyes was on little master but he also perishes after making useful 43 runs of 52 balls.

However a brilliant knock of 107 runs of 111 balls from Indian captain M.S.Dhoni and useful half-centuries from S.Raina (68 runs of 55 balls) and Virat Kohli (54 runs of 65 balls) helped India to get pass 300 run mark. This was 6th century for Indian captain M.SDhoni.

With the series level to 1-1 now both teams will move to Cuttack to play the third ODI on 21st of December 2009.

T.Dislhan was declared Player of the Match for his superb 123 of just 110 balls.
