India v Sri Lanka 2nd Twenty20 – India aim for big turnaround at Mohali

After a super-duper flop show at Nagpur, India have too much to prove in their last twenty20 game against Sri Lanka at Mohali. Their fielding and bowling looks way below standard in the previous game which resulted in their fourth straight loss in the twenty20 format.

Indian team put up a pathetic performance in all departments of the game to lose the first match by 29 runs in Nagpur and now M.S. Dhoni and his men have a tough task at hand to level the series by 1-1.

Sri Lanka who performed well in all department of the game to break their loosing streak in twenty20 will go into this game with the positive frame of mind and their only target would be to beat India comprehensively to gain the superiority and confidence before advancing into the five match ODI series.

In the 2nd twenty20 international toss could also play an important role in deciding the faith of the game with dew is expected to play his parts as the game goes along. The team winning the toss may avoid bowling second as the dew will make it difficult to grip the ball. However it will be confusing for the team winning the toss to decide what will be the best option for them.

PCA Stadium, Mohali is always known for providing pace and bounce and it will be no different this time around. So both teams will look to restrict the opposition below 160 to achieve the target with more ease while chasing it.

All in all we will witness another fantastic cricket between two Asian giants but only time will tell which team will have upper hands at the end of the 2nd twenty20.

Watch out for

Yuvraj Singh: A man who will turn 28 on a day when India will need fire power from his bat. He would love to score a quick fire fifty in front of his home crowd and celebrates his first birthday while playing at his home ground.

Jayasuirya and Dilshan: Both played the waiting game at start at Nagpur but when it comes to hitting some lusty blows both dismissed so they will be disappointed with their individual efforts so both will look to give their team a flying start to get Sri Lanka a chance to bag their first trophy on this tour.

Pitch & Condition

Due to heavy wind flow in the evening the dew could play a major role. Team batting first will be much easier option so toss will be crucial on Mohali wicket. A team would love to score runs in excess of 180 to be on safer side.

Teams

S.Sreesanth who is tested positive of H1N1 is already ruled out of the 2nd twenty20 and Rohit Sharma who hurt his shoulder during an unsuccessful run attempts at Nagpur is also likely to miss out the game. That means D.Karthik is likely to get a game in place of Rohit Sharma.

On the other hand Sri Lanka may bring A.Mendis into the squad.

Likely Playing XI for both Teams (Match is Schedule to begin at 17:30 PM India Time)

India Squad: V.Sehwag, G.Gambhir, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, M.S.Dhoni (Captain & WK), D.Karthik, Yusuf Pathan, P.Ojha, A.Dinda, A.Nehra, I.Sharma.

Sri Lanka Squad: Tillakaratne Dilshan, Sanath Jayasuriya, Kumar Sangakkara (Captain & WK), Mahela Jayawardene, Chamara Kapugedera, Angelo Mathews, Muthumudalige Pushpakumara, Nuwan Kulasekara, Ajantha Mendis, Lasith Malinga, D.Fernando.
