IPL twenty20 – Delhi Daredevils looks favorite against Bangalore Royal Challengers at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi

Delhi Dardevils will play against Bangalore Royal Challengers at their home ground and would like to repeat the same kind of performance they did against Rajasthan Royals at their home ground. On the other hand Bangalore Royal Challangers look to register their win against Delhi Daredevils to gain the momentum.

They have loss their last league match against Chennai Super Kings from winning position and they don’t want to repeat any more. However if they would like win against Delhi then Ross Taylor who is playing his last match for Bangalore Royal Challengers has to continue the good form he is in.

The Royal Challengers will be counting on their top order to fire again. Their bowling already looks more lethal with the inclusion of Dale Steyn. And with Misbah-ul-Haq, Cameron White waiting in the wings, the coaching staff knows they aren't short of options but with three losses in four games, there are some problem areas.

Having lost their last game against Mohali, playing the Royal Challengers will be the perfect way for Sehwag's men to get back to the winning ways. However, having run the leaders of the tournament close in their last game, even the Royal Challengers would be hoping that their fortunes turn around from here on.

By the latest News Bangalore Royal Challengers have won the toss and elected to field first. Here is the final playing Xi for both the teams.

Final Playing XI for both the teams (Match will start from 20:00 PM India time)

Delhi Dare Devils: Virender Sehwag (Captain), Gautam Gambhir, Shikhar Dhawan, Shoaib Malik, Manoj Tiwary, Dinesh Karthik (WK), Rajat Bhatia, D.Vettori, Md. Asif, Glenn McGrath, Yo Mahesh, Greg Shipperd (Coach).

IPL twenty20 – Mumbai Indians take on Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Garden Kolkata

Mumbai Indians who lost their last four league matches in the twenty20 IPL tournament so far will be looking to register their first win against the Kolkata Knight Riders. However the task of doing that seems to be very daunting for them since they have already lost their quality off spinner Harbhajan Singh due to eleven match ban impose by Match referee Farookh Engineer after the slapping incidence.

Sachin Tendulkar is yet to recover and they are really struggling without him in the tournament so far. Sachin who is one of the finest batsman India have ever produced is also hoping that his teams finally able to register their first win in his absence against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Brandom McCullum who started the opening game of the tournament with blistering 158* runs of 73 balls with 13 sixes and 10 fours has not scored much in the last two matches. So he will be also looking to give a quick start to his team.

There has been only one match played at Eden garden so far and that too ended up with lots of controversy about the pitch and power cut of during matches. However this time curator of Eden Garden insured that the pitch this time will be full of runs with some helps for the bowlers.

From the Mumbai point of view they will be praying for Jayasurya to fire who has struggle to score the runs in the tournament. Mumbai Indians bowlers are really down after the hammering they have receives in the last game from A.Gilchrist. Mumbai Indians are also worried about their bowlers especially Ashish Nehra who looks wayward with the ball in all four matches he played so far.

IPL Twenty20 – Bangalore Royal Challengers face an uphill task against Chennai Super Kings

Rahul Dravid team will be facing a tough battle when they take on an unbeaten team in the tournament so far, Chennai Super Kings. The Chennai side is the only team in the tournament to have emerged winners on all three ocassion they have taken the field.

All batsmans of Chennai Super Kings looks in great nick in the matches they have played so far. The Likes of M.Hayden and M.S. Dhoni have already showed in the last match what they can do with their opposition. SO Dravid's bowlers would have to be as accurate as possible to restrict them from scoring at will.

The Bangalore Royal Challengers, though, would have a strong batsman in Misbah-ul-Haq to replace Ross Taylor, who goes for the national duty.

The Dhoni led side would be without M.Hussey who is flying for Australia as he has been called by the home board to participate in the pre-Caribbean tour camp.

The chances of Bangalore Royal Challengers will depend on how their batsman performs in this match. Since their batsman struggle badly against Rajasthan Royals in their last league match.

If they would like to register the win against Chennai Super Kings then one or two batsman from their top orders need to make a big score like 70’s plus.

Likely Playing XI for both the teams (Match will start from 20:00 PM India time)

Chennai Super King: Matthew Hayden, Parthiv Patel, S.Fleming, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (Captain), Suresh Raina, Jacob Oram, S Badrinath, Joginder Sharma, P Amarnath, Manpreet Gony, Muttiah Muralitharan, Kepler Wessels (Coach).

Bangalore Royal Challengers: Rahul Dravid (Captain), Balachandra Akhil, Mark Boucher, S.Chanderpaul, Sunil Joshi, Jaques Kallis, Zaheer Khan, Virat Kohli, Praveen Kumar, Anil Kumble, Misbah-Ul-Haq, V.Prasad (Coach).

IPL Twenty20 Mumbai Indians Vs King XI Punjab – Both team look to register their 1st Win in IPL

The much awaited clash for many fans has finally arrived and will be played in the heart of Chandigarh. Both team looking to register their first win in IPL. However one will be the looser and other will be the winner.

Mumbai Indians have loss their both the matches very closely and have some positive to take from their last two encounters. On the other hand King XI Punjab has international bowlers but they yet struggle to restrict the opposition due to some poor captaincy as well as some wayward blowing by the likes of S.Sreesanth.

Sachin Tendulkar who celebrates his 35th birthday yesterday is likely to sit out again and if this is the case then Mumbai Indians may miss him badly in this match also. But if he play today then Vikrant Yeligati, the offspinner, could be dropped after going for 16 runs in his one over in Chennai. The rest of the team will probably remain largely unchanged, but Nayar may feel he deserves a promotion after taking Mumbai close to a win in the last game.

King XI Punjab is most likely to go with same playing XI as they played in last match against Rajasthan Royals.

The Pitch at Mohali will suit the batsman and we may witness other 200 plus score in 20 overs.

IPL twenty20 – Chennai Super Kings confident to beat Mumbai Indians at Chepauk, Chennai

Chennai Super Kings who is flying high on confidence after beating King XI Punjab in their first game will now confident to repeat the same against Mumbai Indians in front of their home crowd.

Mumbai Indians on the other hand struggling to find proper combination due to Sachin Tendulkar and Dominic Thornely injury. Sachin Tendulkar who will turn 35 on Thursday is almost certain to miss out the encounter against solid looking Chennai Super Kings.

So all in all match eight of the DLF Indian Premier League between these two teams will provide a fascinating contest. MS Dhoni will aim to keep the winning run going for Chennai Super Kings in their first home match, and their opponents will be the Mumbai Indians who will have to make do once again without injured Captain Sachin Tendulkar.

Delhi Daredevils team is also boosted by the arrival of their teammates Shoiab Mallik and Md. Asif. It will be another headache for Delhi captain Virendra Sehwag when he sit to pick the final playing XI, however Brett Geeves who conceded 41 runs in his four overs without taking a wicket, is likely to make way for Shoiab Malik.

Delhi Dardevils teams have a good batting line-up with the likes of gautam gambhir and S.Dhawan in good nicks. But they will face the real challenge when they face likes of R.P Singh and Chaminda Vaas.

The Sri Lankan proved quite a handful for the Knight Riders and would be eager to carry on the good work. And with R.P. Singh proving his worth, Daredevils have a fight on hand.

Likely Playing XI for both the teams (Match will start from 20:00 PM India time)

Delhi Dare Devils: Virender Sehwag (Captain), Gautam Gambhir, Shikhar Dhawan, Manoj Tiwary, Dinesh Karthik (WK), Shoaib Malik, Mithun Manhas, Rajat Bhatia, Daniel Vettori, Glenn McGrath, F. Mehroof, Greg Shipperd (Coach).

IPL twenty20 – Kolkata Knight Riders easily beat Bangalore Royal Challengers by 140 runs

It was match which many people remember for one man hitting that was New Zealand Wicket Keeper hard hitting Batsman Brandum McCullum who hit 158* runs of 73 balls with 13 sixes and 10 fours.

Earlier Bangalore Royal Challenger captain Rahul Dravid won the toss and elected to field first, however Ganguly teams looks positive from start specially Brandum McCullum who came into bat as an opener with his captain Saurav Ganguly. Both pair manages to put more than 60 runs in first five overs before Saurav Ganguly (10 runs of 12 balls) got out caught in the slip on the bowling of Zaheer Khan.

Dismissal of Saurav bring Australian Captain Ricky Ponting (20 runs of 20 balls) into the middle and he also manage to put solid 51 runs stand for the 2nd wicket. However the dismissal of partner from one end doesn’t affect the free flowing run flow from one end. Brandum McCullum continued his aggression till the end of the innings and hit a brisk 158 not out runs and with the help of his majestic knock his team able to put a huge 222/3 in allotted 20 overs.

It was the kind of innings that made the contest one-sided, lopsided. But it was a day when cricket celebrated batting savagery of the finest kind. Bangalore Royal Challengers were never in the reckoning. Chasing an improbable 222 after putting Kolkata in they were bundled out for 82.

Chasing a huge total Bangalore Royal Challengers open their inning with two solid batsman of test cricket Rahul Dravid and Wasim Jaffer. However their opening stand didn’t lasted longer. Ishant Sharma bowling second over of Royal Challengers inning bowled Rahul Dravid on just 2 runs.

Thereafter each and every batsman was coming and going back into the dressing room with the slogan “tu chal main aya”. In fact the score sheet looked like a local telephone number; not a single batsman in the top-order could manage double digits. Praveen Kumar struck a few lusty blows towards the end to stay unbeaten on 18.

Brandum McCullum was declared Man of the Match.

Match Summary

Kolkata Knight Riders – 222/3 in 20 Overs

B.McCullum – 158* R.Ponting – 20

Zaheer Khan– 4-0-38-1 A.Noffke – 4-0-40-1

Bangalore Royal Challangers – 82/10 in 15.1 Overs

IPL Twenty20 – Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Bangalore Royal Challengers Preview

The inaugural match of IPL twenty20 will be played between Sauav Ganguly lead Kolkata Knight Riders and Rahul Dravid lead Bangalore Royal Challengers in M.Chinnaswamy stadium. Of the two team Kolkara Knight Riders is strongest than Bangalore Royal Challangers in all department.

Kolkata Knight Riders is owned by Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan while Bangalore Royal Challangers is owned by Vijay malya. According to IPL rule any team can only play four foreign players in a match. So that means Kolkata Knight Riders will go with Ricky Ponting, Chris Gayle/Salman Butt, Umar Gull and Brandum Mccullum.

Bangalore IPL will miss some of their star player in the first match like Anil Kumble, Dayle Steyn and Nathan Bracken. Anil Kumble is suffering from injury while Dale Steyn is playing at domestic matches in South Africa. Kolkata Knight Riders will miss their fast bowler Shoiab Akhtar due to ban imposed on him by PCB.

Saurav Ganguly team looks more strong because of the presence of Australian Captain Ricky Ponting, the hard hitting New Zealand wicket keeper Brandum McCullum, Chris Gayle and professional coach like John Buchanan. In bowling department also they have quality bowling attack like Umar Gull, Ishant Sharma and Ajit Agarkar.

Many people expecting Kolkata Kight Riders to beat Bangalore Royal Challengers easily however in twenty20 format any team can beat any one.

With only four overseas player allowed in a team, its unlikely that Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Cameron White will both play and White's excellent Twenty20 record puts him ahead. With Anil Kumble ruled out through injury, White is also placed to take the lone spinner's slot ahead of local lad KP Appanna. Kallis and Mark Boucher were expected to leave for the South African domestic Twenty20 competition but will now stay back but with Dale Steyn absent, Noffke could easily fill in. Misbah-ul-Haq will miss the opening clash because of the ongoing series in Pakistan and Shivnarine Chanderpaul is reportedly carrying an injury so another of the local boys, B Akhil or Bharat Chipli, could come into the middle order.

Likely Playing XI for both the teams (Match will start from 20:00 PM India time)

Kolkata Knight Riders: David Hussey, Chris Gayle, Ricky Ponting, Saurav Ganguly (Captain), Brendon McCullum, Debabrata Das, Laxmi Ratan Shukla, Ajit Agarkar, Murali Karthik, Ishant Sharma, Ashok Dinda, John Buchanan (Coach)

Bangalore Royal Challengers: Wasim Jaffer, Jaques Kallis, Rahul Dravid (Captain), Virat Kohli, Cameron White, Mark Boucher, B Akhil, Zaheer Khan, Praveen Kumar, Ashley Noffke, R Vinay Kumar, V.Prasad (Coach).
