Chandrapaul Century Help West Indies to Level the Series Against England

Shivnarine Chanderpaul played brilliantly by making 116 Runs of 122 balls in the second one dayers to help West Indies to beat England by 61 runs. Earlier England Captain Collingwood won the toss and put West Indies into Bat. West Indies though started well but lost both openers very quickly after the opening partnership of 50 runs between Smith and Gayle. At one stage they were 67/2 but the inform Shivna Chanderpaul (116 runs of 122 balls) and Samuels (77 runs of 104 balls) played brilliantly to put together 175 run partnership for the third wickets and set a competitive total of 278/5 in allotted 50 Overs.

England started well but in 5th over Opener Alastair cook Departed and after that England loose their momentum and loss wickets at regular interval. Only Mathew Prior played well for his 52 of 73 balls with some resistance given by Owais Shah with 45 runs of 64 balls. Pick of the bowler from West Indies side was Ravi Rampaul who has taken 4 wickets on the expense of 41 runs in his 10 Over spell while Daren Powell and Fidel Edwards taking two wickets each.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul was declared Man of the Match for his brilliant batting Display.

Now series are level by 1-1 and West Indies and England will meet again on Saturday (07/07/07) for series decider at Trent Bridge.
