Sachin Tendulkar to miss ODI Series against Sri Lanka

Sachin Tendulkar after getting hurt on the left elbow in the third test match against Sri Lanka is ruled out of five matches One Day International against Sri Lanka which will be played from 18th August2008 to 29th August 2008.

S.Badrinath the right handed Tamilnadu middle order batsman will replace him in the five match ODI Series. Tendulkar who already missed the last two One Day Internationals (Asia Cup as well as Kitply Cup). He has not played the One Dayers since CB Series in Australia. Indian physio said he at least need 3 week rest before he will fit to play again.

However he is likely to play in ICC Champions trophy which will be played in Pakistan involving eight top class teams. Champions trophy which was initially scheduled to start from 11th August was extended by day and Rawalpindi is also unlikely to host any matches as ICC sources confirmed.

S.Badrinath confirmed his call-up to the national team, and will leave for Sri Lanka on Wednesday. S.Badrinath if he get chance to play against Sri Lanka then he may have slight advantage since Murali and Badrinath play for same team in IPL and he already faced Murali so many times in nets.

After big failure of Indian middle order batsman in test series against Sri Lanka it will be really a testing time for the liikes of Yuvraj, S.Raina, S.Badrinath and Dhoni. Sri Lanka is very hard to beat on their home soil as we hav seen in test series and after A.Mendis threatning spell in Asia Cup Final it will be another test of characters for the Indian middle order batsman on spin friendly turf.
