Indian team for five One day International against Sri Lanka as well as for ICC Champions Trophy has been announced by the Indian seclectors. Robin Uthappa who struggle to make mark during Kitply Cup as well as in Asia Cup was not included in the team for Sri Lanka series as well as for Champions trophy. Yusuf Pathan who showed power hitting in IPL twenty20 but failed to make any mark at International level was also dropped from the ODI team however his brother Irfan Pathan was included after overlooked for test series against the Sri Lanka. Piyush Chawla is another player who failed to impress the selectors during recently concluded Asia Cup was also axed from the team. Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan marked their return into the one day international squad for the five match one day series to be played against Sri Lanka beginning from 18th of August. Indian selectors also given rest to the likes of Ishant Sharma for the five match ODI series but he was included in the 15 member squads for Champions Trophy. The most surprising inclusion was under 19 world cup winner captain Virat Kohli who is able to make his place in both Champions Trophy squads as well as in the 16 member squad announced for five match ODI series. Parthiv Patel was also considered as second wicket keeper for the Sri Lankan tour however he was not included in the 15 member squad announced for Champions trophy.
