Indian bowlers bowled there dream spell to bundled out the world champions Australia for 212 runs and at stumps India were 52/1 with the lead of 170 runs under there belt. Two not out batsmen’s are Virendra Sehwag batting on 29 runs and Irfan Pathan batting on 2 runs. India lost the only wicket of Wasim Jaffer (11) as the Mumbai batsman’s miserable run ‘Down Under’ continued.
Earlier India resumes the play with the overnight score of 297/6 but they bowled out for 330 runs. They manage to add only 33 runs more; with Mitchell Johnson picking two and Stuart Clark manage to pick two wickets on 2nd morning of play.
After being bowled out for 330 runs, Indian opening bowl bowler Irfan Pathan struck early with the new ball, scalping both the openers, Chris Rogers (4) and Phil Jaques (8), cheaply to reduce the Australian score to 13/2.
R.P Singh also joined the party when he picked up Michael Hussey for duck to reduce the Australia score to 14/3.
Ricky Ponting along with Michael Clarke held the fort for a while but rookie pacer Ishant Sharma dealt a huge blow when he claimed the Australian skipper for 20. Clarke was the next to go for 23 as Sharma made most of the bouncy WACA track.
However Andrew Symonds (66 runs of 70 balls) and Adam Gilchrist (55 runs of 61 balls) put on 102 runs for 6th wicket to get their team some out of trouble. But after Anil Kumble dismissed Symonds to claim his 600th test victim, the floodgates opened as India cleaned up the remaining batsmen by giving away another 49 runs.
