India still fighting hard at Sydney against Australia – India Vs Australia 2nd Test Day4 Sydney

Indian team is still fighting hard for win here at Sydney Cricket Ground in 2nd test against the world champion Australia. Just few overs before close of play Kumble picked up two wickets in two balls to get his team some what right back into the match. At stumps Australia were 282/4 with the lead of 213 runs.

Mathew Hayden played brilliantly to get his 2nd century in the series. He continued to bat beautifully against his favorite opposition India and passed more than 1500 test runs against the Indians. Michael Hussy also returned into form and helped his team to get the valuable lead of 213 runs.

Earlier, Overnight batsman Phil Jaques and Hayden started well and put on 85 runs for the 1st wicket before Indian Captain Anil Kumble remove Phil Jaques for 42 runs. This wicket gave Anil Kumble his 100th test wicket against the world champion Australia.

Sooner Harbhajan Singh introduces into the attack and he didn’t disappoint his captain, he removes unlikely out of form Australian Captain Ricky Ponting when he caught by Laxman for 1 run which sparked off wild celebrations in the Indian camp.

However both Mathew Hayden and Michael Hussey both held their nerves and palyed with caution and aggression to denied some tight bowling by the Indian spinners. Both put on 160 runs for the 3rd wicket before Captain Kumble removed Hayden for 123 on an attempted reverse sweep.

After Hayden dismissal, Michael Clarke arrives to the crease but he also fell on the very next ball with a smart catch by Rahul Dravid at first slip. Andrew Symonds faces a loud appeal of lbw on a hat-trick ball which was denied by umpire Steve Bucknor.

India continued to face poor umpiring on 4th day also when Mark Benson didn’t raise his finger on loud appeal of R.P Singh for caught behind. However T.V replay showed it was clear nick of bat to the wicket keeper M.S Dhoni.
