Sachin Tendulkar (154* runs of 243 balls) was well supported by lower order batsman which helped him to reach his 38th well deserve hundred at Sydney. At one stage India were 345/7, however off spinner Harbhajan Singh (63 runs of 92 balls) and Sachin Tendulkar involved in crucial partnership of 129 runs to put their team right back into the match.

R.P Singh and Ishant Sharma also played well and put on 27 runs and 31 runs for 9th and 10th wicket with Sachin Tendulkar to get India a valuable lead of 69 runs.

Earlier, Sachin Tendulkar and Saurav Ganguly carried their good work from where they had left on 2nd Day and build on solid partnership of 108 runs before Saurav Ganguly (67 runs) gave away his wicket to Bradd Hogg by playing a rash short.
