India v South Africa 2nd ODI at Gwalior – India will eye series win

After winning the first ODI by narrow margin of 1 runs which enable India to take 1-0 lead in the three match series would love to wrap up the series when they will take on South Africa in the 2nd ODI at Gwalior. The history is in the favour of India, they just need right attitude and some support from their pace battery to take unbeatable lead of 2-0 in the series.

The pitch curator already indicated that it will be another high scoring encounter between these two teams so it will be interesting to see how both team approaches the game. The pressure will be on South Africans since it will be must win game for them after losing the first game by 1 runs.

Win here for India will give them assurance that they will remain as number two team in the ICC ODI ranking table in this year. But it will be not an easy job for the India as we have seen in the last game. The bowling looks fragile in the absence of experienced Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh.

Having reached in a winning position in the last game, Indians bowlers given away too many runs in the last few overs which almost resulted in a shocking loss however they manage a escape with a narrow margin victory. So Indian bowlers needs to tighten their line and length, if they would like to put pressure on the South African bastmen.

Except Ravinder Jadeja, rest of the bowling looks really a worry factor for M.S.Dhoni and which needs to improve if they were eyeing to get their hands on this series as well as in the upcoming tournaments.

Watch out for

M.S.Dhoni: He might have missed with the bat in the last game but since last one year he is in outstanding form with the bat and could turn the game on if he gets going.

Jaques Kallis: He played extremely well in Jaipur both with bat and ball but he needs support from some of his players if his team wants to remain in the three match series.

Pitch & Condition

The pitch at Captain Roop Singh Stadium, Gwalior will be another batting beauty and would assist spinners as the game progresses. Team winning the toss would look to bat first and put 300 plus runs on the board to put pressure on the opposition.

Teams

Virendra Sehwag who left the field during India’s bowling because of back problem is still doubtful, however M.S.Dhoni is still confidence that he will take part in the 2nd ODI at Gwalior. The only change we can expect is bringing Sudeep Tyagi in place of expensive S.Sreesanth.

South Africa after middle order failure in Jaipur would look to provide solidity in the middle orders by brining in Hashim Amla in place of Loots Bosman.

Likely Playing XI for both Teams (Match is Schedule to begin at 14:30 PM India Time)

India Squad: Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni (Captain & WK), Suresh Raina, Dinesh Karthik, Yusuf Pathan, Praveen Kumar, Amit Mishra, Ashish Nehra, S.Tyagi.

South Africa Squad: Herschelle Gibbs, Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers, Jacques Kallis (Captain), Alviro Petersen, Mark Boucher (WK), Albie Morkel, Wayne Parnell, Dale Steyn, Johan Botha, Charl Langeveldt.

Stats & Trivia

Captain Roop Singh Stadium, Gwalior is happy hunting ground for India in which they have won 7 out of 9 games they have played on this surface.

India and South Africa last played at this venue was way back in 1991, in which India emerge out as winner after beating South Africa by 38 runs.
