Once again Dhoni and his men failed to deliver with the bat and they have to face second consecutive defeats by the hands of kiwis by five wickets in the 2nd twenty20 played at Westpac Stadium, Wellington.
B.McCullum for the second consecutive time became hero for New Zealand by scoring 69 runs of just 55 balls with eight fours and one huge six. Chasing 150 runs for victory J.Ryder (26 runs of 15 balls) and B.McCullum gave New Zealand a perfect start by putting 53 runs in just 28 balls. However Z.Khan provided the much needed breakthrough for the Indians when he bowled J.Ryder.
Four overs later H.Singh removed M.Guptill to provide India second breakthrough. R.Jadeja and H.Singh manages to put breaks on scoring and did put India on winning position.
Needing 23 runs of last two overs McCullum held his nerve. 19th over bowled by Y.Singh who conceded 11 runs of that over but did manage to remove N.Broom in the same over. In the last over New Zealand needed another 12 runs to win the twenty20 series. Final over bowled by I.Pathan who held his nerves for first three balls and given just three runs including a wide. New Zealand's chances of winning looked slim when they needed nine runs off the last three balls but McCullum kept his cool, smacking two successive boundaries to level the scores before chipping the final delivery over the infield to seal the win.
Earlier India manages to score 149/6 in 20 overs with the help of superb knock of 50 runs of 34 balls by Yuvraj Singh. Apart from Yuvraj, M.S.Dhoni 28 runs and V.Sehwag 24 runs were other contibuter.
B.McCullum is declared Man of the Match for his blistering knock of 69 runs of 55 balls to guide his team home by five wickets.
