A consistent performance from Yusuf Pathan in on going IPL twenty20 able to impress the selectors to get selected for the triangular series ODI to be played in Bangladesh from June 8^th to June 14^th.

Yusuf Pathan was expected to be included in the team with his power hitting show in IPL. He has scored 334 runs at 27.83 from 13 innings with three fifties, and recorded the fastest half-century of the Twenty20 tournament: off 21 balls against the Deccan Chargers. He also took five wickets at 41.60 with his off spin.

While Pragyan Ojha was surprised inclusion in the team ahead of Murali Karthik. Though Ojha was not among the highest wicket takers in the Indian Premier League with just 11 in 13 matches, he showed versatility in bowling at various stages of the matches including in the final overs.

Sachin Tendulkar was ruled out of the two tournaments because of a groin injury, while other senior players like Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid were once again not able to impress the selectors enough in IPL to get into the team. While Harbhajan Singh is not considered for selection beacuase of ban imposed by BCCI.

D.Karthik and Munaf Patel Dinesh Karthik and Munaf Patel, who played in the CB Series, failed to make the cut.

The triangular series will be short in nature and each team will play one match to each other and then top two teams will play final on 14^th June.

Here is the fixture of Asia Cup to be played in Pakistan

Pakistan will host the Asia Cup from June 24^th to July 6 in Karachi and Lahore this year.

This is the first time the tournament is being staged in Pakistan, and is the first edition of what was meant to originally be an annual event, since 2004.

The initial group phase of matches will be held in Lahore, while the second stage as well as the final will be held in Karachi. As the heat is expected to be severe, particularly in Lahore, all matches will be day-night contests.

Six teams will be divided into two groups namely Group A and B. All of them will play with each other in their corresponding groups then top two teams from each group will advanced to next stage.

Then all four teams will play with each other and based on points top two teams will move to Final to be played on July 6^th 2008 to be played at National Stadium, Karachi.
