India Vs England 4th ODI at Manchester – England beat India by three wickets

The duo Stuart Broad and Ravi Bopara snatched a victory from the hands of Indian by playing some sensible and calm cricket at Manchester. With the help of these two England managed to beat India by three wickets. At One stage England were 114/7 chasing a small target of 213 runs.

Earlier Rahul Dravid after winning the toss decided to bat first, but they didn’t started well and loss three quick wickets when 32 runs on the board in the 12th Over. However Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh try to stabilize the Indian innings but part timer Kevin Pietersen got rid of Sachin Tendulkar when he was on 55 to reduce the Indian score to 103/4.

M.S. Dhoni was bowled by beauty from left armer Monty Paneaser on 13. Now it’s up to Yuvraj Singh to get the Indian total to some way around 230-240 mark. He was well on course but he was finally out by the beauty of delivery by Stuart Broad on 71. After his dismissal Indians score look like they don’t pass even 200 run mark but thanks to Zaheer Khan and Piyush Chawla who played sensibly to get pass the Indian total to 212 runs. Indians finally bowled out for 212 in 49.4 Overs.

After setting a small target of 213 runs, Indian bowler Zaheer Khan started well and give Indians a first breakthrough in his firt over when he bowled A.Cook out. Ajit Agarkar also join the party with four quick wickets and England in trouble at 95/5 in 17th over.

Ramesh Pawar strikes in his very first over when he got Owasis Shah and reduces England to 110/6. On the other hand Paul Collingwood playing really well at other end but he also not able to handle the pressure and got run out on 47 and leave England tattering at 114/7 needing another 99 runs for victory in 27 overs.

Stuart Broad (45 not out)and Ravi Bopara (43 not out) sees England home in the 48th Over and England won the match by three wickets. Taking their lead to 3-1 in the Seven match ODI series.

Sturat Broad was declared Man of the Match with his brilliant 45 not out with bat and for taking 4-51 in his 10 over spell.
